Display lantern for the perfect view

The inspection lantern from AWH enables real-time visual inspection of media in closed pipe systems. It allows you to visually check the flow rate and color of your product.

Structure and assembly

The system impresses with an improved increase in break resistance by means of stud bolts with collar impact. The heavy-duty design benefits from the pre-defined compression of the seal on the glass cylinder. The self-locking stainless steel nuts also increase the safety standard.

When installing the stainless steel display lantern, it is necessary to fit the appropriate sealing ring on both sides of the glass cylinder.

The sealing surfaces must be metallically clean and undamaged. It is also necessary to tighten the nuts crosswise and in several steps.

The glass cylinder used in the display lantern is made of borosilicate, a highly durable glass that is resistant to chemicals and temperatures.

There are different connection variants:

• Standard welding connection DIN 10357
• Threaded connection DIN 11851
• Tapered connection DIN 11851

Other variants can be provided on request.

Splinter protection

In accordance with the risk assessment, AWH floodlights are only supplied with splinter guards fitted. Two versions are available.

Splinter guard for the AWH display lantern made of perforated sheet metal

The robust perforated metal plate is perforated to allow light through and ensure a view of the product inside the display lantern. The perforated metal shatter guard for the AWH display lantern is extremely stable and effectively protects the system from damage.

Shatter protection for the AWH display lantern made of polycarbonate

The shatter protection for the AWH polycarbonate display lantern is made of thermoplastic polymer. It is transparent and, with a light transmission of >86 %, provides an excellent view of the medium.

In addition, the surface structure is easy to clean and there is no visual impairment as with punched sheet metal. The splinter protection can be used at temperatures of up to 120°C. It is also very break-resistant and impact-resistant.

Sight glasses for real-time monitoring of media

The AWH sight glass allows you to effectively monitor and control the flow and level of your products. You can track the flow in the sight glass and check the condition of the media in real time. This allows you to avoid potential production downtimes and damage to machines and systems.

Use

A sight glass is primarily used as a level indicator in tanks. It is also installed as a flow sight glass in pipelines. The system for optical monitoring of media is used in both commercial and industrial operations. Both the food industry and the chemical and pharmaceutical industries benefit from the use of sight glasses in low-germ processes.

Structure and installation of the tempered glass pane

The tempered glass pane of our standard sight glass is made of borosilicate. This glass material has high strength and temperature resistance. This means that it can also be used at high temperatures. The tempered glass pane is screwed into a threaded connection with a welded end using a seal and locknut. The system is also available with a windshield wiper.

Windshield wipers and lighting

This is used for liquids with a high solids content, which lead to deposits on the borosilicate windshield. The windshield wiper requires a regular leakage check and may only be put into operation at a nominal value of up to 6 bar. It can be used in a temperature range from -40 to 140°C. It is also possible to equip the product with the AWH 24 VOLT DC LED sight glass lights.

The 6 SMD high-performance LEDs enable maximum light output with low consumption. Here, the medium is illuminated from one side through the sight glass in pipes and containers. This allows the flow in the sight glass to be monitored in real time.

Sight glass fitting for visual real-time monitoring of media in pipelines

Our AWH sight glass fitting is used for optical real-time monitoring of media in pipelines. The system is used in the food and beverage industry as well as in the chemical and pharmaceutical industry.

Assembly and properties

Stainless steel sight glass fittings meet the highest hygiene standards. The design consists of a housing with two sight glasses. It allows the product to be viewed from two perspectives. Our sight glass fittings are designed for operation up to a maximum nominal pressure of 10 bar. The sight glass fitting can also be equipped with two wipers. Two DIN 11851 sealing rings are used to mount the two sight glasses on the housing. Two flange gaskets and locknuts are also installed.

Lighting for flow control

An illuminated version is also available for the system. The medium can be illuminated with the DIN welding / welding sight glass fitting. This is where the AWH 24 VOLT DC LED sight glass lights are used. The 6 SMD high-performance LEDs enable maximum light output with low consumption.

This enables detailed and precise observation of the flow and the properties of the medium in pipelines. In addition, the medium is fully illuminated and can be viewed from both sides of the control system.

Efficient real-time monitoring

The products are monitored without electronics or moving mechanics. Accordingly, our sight glass fitting for real-time monitoring is low-maintenance. It is not susceptible to repair and ensures optimum observation of the medium during operation. This allows you to monitor the flow directly through the sight glass and react to anomalies and production errors.
