Mode of operation and intended use of an air release valve

An air release valve works like a ball check valve. Here, a ball with a low density acts as a control element. As the liquid rises, it floats upwards and is pressed against the valve seat at the top. This automatically closes the valve. The design offers an optimum solution to prevent possible negative pressure. When the liquid level drops, the gases can flow through the gaps around the ball and thus ventilate the system. This variant is very often used in storage tanks. The valve guarantees optimum regulation of liquids. There is no unwanted leakage of liquid either when filling or emptying the tank. Mode of operation and intended use of a vent valve

As with a double valve, a freely movable ball is used as a control element. When the liquid level rises, the ball moves upwards and exerts pressure on the upper seal seat. This automatically closes the system. As with the air release valve, the air can escape in the same way. The principle of gravity is used to prevent the liquid column from falling. The ball falls into the lower seal seat in the event of negative pressure and stops the drop. A bleed valve is often installed in the pipe and suction lines of pumps. The valve prevents air from being sucked in when the pump is started up. AWH air release valves are therefore ideal for ensuring smooth operation.
