Due to length and weight, loading pipes into sea containers is known to be an extensive and time-consuming undertaking that requires some logistics. AWH has long used practical "sleds" for loading pipes. In this way, the long pipes can be loaded in one go in a total package of up to eight tons. The 2.30 x 5.90 meter sleds are brought into position in front of the container by means of a forklift, held by a second forklift and then pushed into the container. After final load securing, the truck is ready to leave.

The sled loading system not only saves time compared with individual loading of the pipes. It also represents added value in terms of safety, as the load is compactly placed in the hold as a complete package instead of in many individual pipe units.
